Overview

This intensive four-day course, a first-of-its-kind delivered by experienced top tier team leaders and industry professionals is designed to develop the next generation of close protection leadership.

The course is comprehensive, adaptable, accessible and provides in-depth training on every stage of team leadership from initial formation through to professional application and effective management. It provides a focused and practical understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Close Protection Team.

The course is uniquely placed to equally benefit those static and residential security team members with aspirations of becoming a close protection Team Leader.

  • Role & Responsibilities of a Close Protection Team Leader
  • Psychology of team management and operative selection
  • Understanding Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability
  • Contextualising and conducting a risk assessment
  • Differentiating between management and leadership
  • Team administration, supporting staff wellbeing and duty of care
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): structure and compilation
  • Effective operational briefings and report writing
  • Close protection-specific surveys, organisational policies, and contingency planning
  • Crisis management, performance monitoring, and staff appraisals

Classroom in-person courses will ordinarily be inclusive of the following:

  • Tuition by a specialist training consultant
  • Consultant’s preparation time
  • Quality venue and conferencing facilities
  • One-to-one time with experienced professional(s)
  • International peer networking
  • Course resources and materials
  • Light lunch and refreshments
  • Guest speaker, when available
